Murder suspect Francisco "Frankie" Cardenas was arrested in Hollister on Saturday, July 26 and booked into San Benito County Jail, where he is being held on murder charges with no bail. The Hollister Police Department identified Cardenas, age 18, of Hollister as a suspect in the murder and a “no bail” warrant was issued for his arrest. 

On July 14 at about 10:15 p.m., Daniel Manuel Cadenas, 31, of Hollister, was shot and killed on Prospect Avenue.

In a press release, the Hollister Police Department said it "would like to thank all of the concerned community members who came forward with information regarding this case."

“Once again, our community working with its police department has stood up and made it clear they will not allow criminals to think they can victimize its residents or get a free pass in our city," said Chief David Westrick. "We as a community have drawn the line in the sand.”
