The Hollister Police Department announced that it next week will extend the hours its lobby is open to the public.
Several months ago, due to reduced staffing and a backlog of mandatory reporting requirements, the department had to decrease its lobby hours. This was done to concentrate on eliminating the backlog of administrative reporting requirements that had been built up over time due to a staffing shortage and a larger load of local, sate, and federal reporting requirements.
During this reduction in hours, Hollister Police Department staff have brought the administrative reporting workload to a manageable level. Therefore, starting on Monday Nov. 23, the lobby hours will be extended to the following schedule:
The new office hours with the exception of recognized holidays will be:
Mondays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fridays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays Closed
The department said that the office hours do not have an affect on dispatching officers for calls for service. Citizens can continue to call 911 and the non-emergency line (636-4331) to report a crime or request assistance. Many services like online reporting, paying for parking tickets or general information are available online on the department’s website.
