HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – April 20, 2014- On Easter Sunday, at about 12:30 PM, Hollister Police Officers responded to report of a person shot in the 800 Blk of Washington Street.

Officers learned that a fight involving four suspect males and the victim occurred near the intersection of South Street and Washington Street. During the struggle one of the four males ran to a vehicle parked nearby and retrieved a rifle described as black in color. This suspect, whom was described as approximately 5’10”, light complexion, dark curly hair with a ponytail began firing the rifle at the victim. The victim was shot three times. All four suspects then fled in a gray, possibly Chevrolet single cab pickup.

Hollister Fire Department and American Medical Response (AMR) responded and rendered medical aid. The victim was conscious and alert. The victim was later flown to a bay area hospital for medical treatment.

The investigation revealed that bullets also struck a vehicle and an occupied residence in the area of the disturbance. The investigation also points to the incident being a possible gang motivated crime. No other injuries were reported. Gang Officer Weiss has been assigned this investigation.
