Hollister Police announced they are investigating the death of an adult male who was found with multiple gunshot wounds.
According to the news release, officers responded to a report of a shooting victim in the 1000 block of Monterey Street around 11:44 p.m. on Oct. 23. Police said when officers arrived, they found the victim was not conscious and not breathing.
The release said officers attempted lifesaving measures before turning the medical care of the victim over to Hollister Fire Department and American Medical Response personnel. It added the victim died at the scene.
Police said its Investigation Bureau was notified and responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and determined the incident was a homicide.

Witnesses reported seeing several male subjects fleeing the scene around the time of the shooting, the release said.
