On Sunday, May 15, the Hollister Police Department will hold a physical ability practice and information day for people interested in a career in law enforcement.
The Hollister Police Department would like to invite those who are interested in a career in law enforcement to meet its officers and discuss what it takes to work in this field. Recruitment staff will be able to answer questions in how to prepare mentally and physically for joining this rewarding profession.
Practice Day is open to anyone wanting to experience the physical requirements of becoming a law enforcement officer. The testing is based on California P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standards and Training) requirements and consists of several different physical abilities of jumping fences, obstacle course, running, and weighted body drags.
People must be at least 18 years old and sign a release waiver to participate in the physical ability practice. For more information, contact the Hollister Police Department, (831) 636-4330. Comfortable athletic wear is recommended.
