Hollister resident killed in suspected DUI crash

CHP arrested one driver on suspicion of driving under the influence

One person was killed in a Saturday morning crash between a truck and a sedan on Fairview Road at Comstock Road in northern San Benito County. The decedent has been identified by the San Benito County Sheriff's Office Coroner Division as Hollister resident J. Jesus Medina, 61.

The Hollister/Gilroy CHP Office is investigating the incident and will provide more details on the crash/arrest, in which one driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

KSBW television reported that traffic was diverted for a few hours as officers completed their investigation. The roadway reopened fully just before 4 p.m. Saturday.
