The Hollister Police Department investigated a felony child sexual abuse case involving a 37-year-old Hollister resident, resulting in a state prison sentence following prosecution.

Upon receiving information regarding the allegations, Hollister Police Department detectives initiated an extensive investigation. The investigation, led by Detective Garcia, involved collecting evidence, conducting multiple follow up interviews and coordinating with partner agencies throughout the case. During the investigation, detectives identified Ray David Aparicio as the suspect responsible for multiple felony sexual offenses involving a minor.

Following the investigation, Aparicio was arrested and the case was submitted to the San Benito County District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution. Aparicio pleaded guilty to the offenses discovered during the investigation.

As a result of the conviction, Aparicio was sentenced to more than 30 years in state prison. Upon completion of his prison sentence, he will also be required to register as a sex offender pursuant to California law.
