A film that features scenes shot in Hollister and San Juan Bautista will be screened on Halloween morning at Premiere Cinemas. The award-winning  movie “Man From Reno,” will be shown one time, at 9.30 a.m., Saturday Oct. 31 , at Premiere Cinemas, 641 McCray St, Hollister, followed by a Q & A with movie director Dave Boyle.

The film won the Best Narrative Feature Award at the 2014 Los Angeles Film Festival. It is a cross-cultural , murder mystery in English and Japanese set in San Francisco and its outskirts, including scenes shot in Hollister and San Juan Bautista.

In the movie, a small-town sheriff and a Japanese crime writer are lured into the same, strange murder mystery, when a man From Reno goes missing on the streets of San Francisco. This Hitchcock-ian suspense mystery starring Pepe Serna, Ayako Fujitani and Kazuki Kitamura, has been shown across the United States and Canada and at the Osaka Film Festival in Japan. It will be shown in other countries soon.
