Hollister School District Superintendent Erika Sanchez has requested a temporary medical leave of absence during the 2024-2025 school year, which the Board of Trustees has approved. Since such matters are confidential, the Board is not at liberty to share any further information with the public. Nevertheless, the Board of Trustees thanks Superintendent Sanchez for her service to the District to date, and looks forward to her return from medical leave later this school year.
In the interim, and to ensure continuity of quality leadership over the District’s
operations during Superintendent Sanchez’s temporary absence, the Board of Trustees has appointed Deputy Superintendent Kip Ward to serve as Interim Superintendent of the Hollister School District until Superintendent Sanchez returns later in the school year. Mr. Ward is an experienced and qualified school administrator, and long-time employee of the District. Mr. Ward’s appointment as Interim Superintendent during the 2024-2025 school year will be finalized upon the approval of an employment contract at the Board’s next regular meeting on Aug. 27, 2024.
