The U13 Hollister Tremors Pumas won the Fall District Cup the weekend of Nov. 14-15 in an overtime penalty shootout at the soccer complex in Morgan Hill. The tournament consists of teams from Salinas to San Francisco.

The Pumas won all three of their preliminary matches leading to the finals against the San Carlos Galaxy. The finals were played under very windy conditions with San Carlos scoring first on a long-range free kick.

The Pumas dominated the game, but could not find the back of the net until a San Carlos player committed a foul in the box. Team captain Anthony Rivera then slotted home his shot into the corner. The score remained tied until the end of regulation. The penalty shootout went to extra kicks as goalkeeper Adolfo Corona Jr. made several key stops. Christian Trujillo then sealed the victory on the seventh shot.

The Hollister Tremors consists of in-house recreational teams and competitive teams that compete throughout the South Bay and Peninsula.
