The Hollister Vikings Junior Midget Cheer team competed Dec. 8 at the Pop Warner National Cheer and Dance Championship, held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida.
The team earned an invitation to the nationals after winning the 2015 West Coast Peninsula Pop Warner Junior Midget Cheer championship. At nationals, the team narrowly missed placing against nine other championship teams from around the United States.Â
The Vikings’ cheer team, along with coaches and family members — including two dads substituting for moms — estimated at 50 people from Hollister, were in attendance.Â
