Hollister Police announced it made an arrest Feb. 11 in relation to a shooting that occurred on the 100 block of Third St. on Feb. 6.
Following the shooting at about 11:36 p.m., police said officers responded to the 100 block of Third Street regarding reports of shots being fired. Officers found a male juvenile suffering from one gunshot wound. The victim was treated by Fire and AMR then transported to a nearby trauma center. It added the injury appeared to not be life-threatening.
According to the news release, officers used Hollister’s newly installed FLOCK Camera System to identify the suspect’s vehicle and license plate. It added Officer Lenin Pimentel located that vehicle on the 1400 block of Fourth Street and contacted the occupants.
Police say during the search of the vehicle, the weapon used in this shooting was located and seized.
According to the release, a 21-year-old man was arrested and admitted to having shot the victim following a verbal confrontation at the incident location.
The man was charged with attempted homicide, several gun charges and bail was set at $570,000.
