The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is participating in the nationwide America 250 celebration by supporting communities through large-scale humanitarian food donations.

As part of this initiative, semi-trucks from the Church’s Salt Lake City welfare and humanitarian system are delivering tens of thousands of pounds of food to local food banks and nonprofit organizations throughout the Bay Area.

Several nonprofit organizations and civic leaders will be present to receive the donation and speak about the importance of community service and caring for those in need.

San Benito County Food Bank will receive 18,610 pounds that is scheduled to be delivered at noon May 28.

This effort is part of the Church’s “JustServe” and humanitarian outreach initiatives connected to the America 250 celebration.
