Crowds lined San Benito Street

The annual Lights On! Parade proved to be a community-building, small business-suporting, memory-making, fun event again this year. Thousands of San Benito County residents lined San Benito Street all day Saturday for the 20+ year tradition. This year's celebration included floats, adance performances and a life size snow globe where families could have their pictures taken.

"Wonderful crowd, beautiful parade, awesome boutique, just a great day! Always gets me in the Christmas spirit," said Hollister resident Sally Silva.

"Awesome turn out, great floats and perfect weather! Way to kick off the holiday season!!!" Gina Tomasini added.

The event is the work of Brenda Weatherly and her staff at the Hollister Downtown Association, who plans for months ahead of the Thanksgiving weekend. We encourage the fun to continue by encouraging all San Benito County residetns to shop local this holiday season and head downtown when you get your gift lists out.
