January 16, 1941 – September 6, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and friend, Alma Fay Rogers, who passed on September 6, 2026 at the age of 85. Alma was born and raised in Santa Clara county. She was the ninth of ten children born to the Rev. Robert Jesse Manning and Charlotte Brooks Manning.
On May 3, 1957, at the young age of 16, she married Richard Rogers in San Jose, CA., later making their home in the Monterey Peninsula.
Shortly after marriage, they started a family, welcoming four boys. Although a young wife and mother, she assumed her role as a very capable wife and mother.
She helped teach her boys to develop Christian qualities; honesty, kindness, generosity, to show empathy for others, and in hospitality. Qualities she deeply valued and strived to teach by example.
She was a hard worker, working along side her husband in the family business and housekeeper for many in the community. Alma was a great cook. She also enjoyed baking and jam making.
Her joy grew as her family increased in number with the addition of six grandchildren, ALL BOYS! Seth (Talia), Thomas, Caleb (Lindsey) Levi, Christian, and Mitchell (Jessica).
Finally, her “GIRLS!” Great-granddaughters, Xoe Jane and Evie McKenzie, who affectionately named her “GG”. She was very proud of that surname.
Through out her life she enjoyed teaching others about the wonderful hope she’d learned from the Bible, building friendships over the 55 years serving the community.
She was preceded by her husband of 48 years, Richard. Her parents Robert and Charlotte Manning. Her siblings Richard, William, Lola May, Ernest, Ralph, Clara Jane, and Jimmie.
Surviving her are her boys Daniel (Sara), Michael (Lydia), Andrew (Sylvia), and Mark (Lana). Her brothers Robert (Carol), and Raymond (Ginny) Manning. Her sisters-in-law Ruth Horn and Pamela Rogers, many nieces, nephews and hundreds of friends that have been a great source of encouragement, support, and comfort.
The Rogers family appreciates all the love, kindness, and generosity expressed during this difficult time. The family cordially invites you to her memorial which will take place Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 3:00 pm.
