Armeda Adele (Sabbatini) Dooling passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025 at Skyline Place Assisted Living in Sonora at the age of 101. She was one of 8 surviving children born to Italian immigrant parents Dominico and Susanna Sabbatini on January 15, 1924 in Hollister, California where she lived until age 97.

She graduated from Hollister High School in 1941 and got her first job working for Bank of America and later Hollister National Bank. After marrying Jeff Dooling in 1946 and having 2 children (Peggy and Jeff II), she enjoyed working seasonally for both the San Benito County Fair and Rodeo. Her final employment was in the office at Spring Grove School.

Armeda also volunteered her time with Women’s Club of Hollister, San Benito County Cattle Women’s Association and St. Benedict Catholic Church. In retirement she learned to swim, play piano, play tennis and square dance. She and Jeff enjoyed many years with old and new friends traveling, playing tennis and square dancing.

At age 97 after the last of her siblings died, Armeda made the decision to move to assisted living in Sonora to be near her daughter Peggy and son-in-law Eric. She enjoyed having a community of people to socialize with and she participated in all activities offered. It gave her great pleasure to be more involved with Peggy and Eric’s family including grandchildren Eric DuTemple Jr. and Nikole Nichols (Sean), great granddaughter Megan DuTemple and Eric’s sister Linda DuTemple.

Armeda and Jeff were very active members of Sacred Heart and St. Benedict Catholic Church. Her faith in God was strong and got her through any difficulties she encountered in life.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Jeff, Son Jeff Dooling II, Parents, Nephews Ken McPhail, Mark Hall and Dan Dooling; Niece Nancy Scagliotti; sisters and brothers in law Anna Mariottini Lavagnino (Ralph & Augie), Ines Lemos (Joe), Ida McPhail (Ken & Roy), Elsie Scagliotti (Harry); Brothers and sisters in law Frank Sabbatini (Laura & Barbara), Ray Sabbatini (Dorothy) and Ralph Sabbatini. Additionally, Annabelle (Dooling) Hall (Charley), Dan Dooling (Anna Marie) and Lorraine Dooling.

She is survived by her daughter Peggy and son-in-law Eric DuTemple of Sonora, her grandchildren Eric DuTemple Jr of Madera and Nikole Nichols (Sean) of Sparks, great granddaughter Megan DuTemple of Sacramento, brother in law Willis Dooling, numerous nieces and nephews and long time friends.

There will be no service but rather gatherings of family and her friends at a later date.
