March 15, 1951 – June 5, 2026

Daniel Franklin Dwyer passed away on June 5, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by the love of his family.

Dan was born on March 15, 1951, in Lynwood, California, to Earl and Betty Dwyer. He spent his early years in Hayward and San Jose, graduating from Piedmont Hills High School and San Jose State University.

Dan taught Art at Gilroy High School for 32 years. He was a creative artist and skilled craftsman and related well to his students. Dan was an avid backpacker and enjoyed many adventures in the High Sierra of Yosemite. Dan lived in San Juan Bautista for 47 years and established a very welcoming home and garden with his wife and family.

Dan is survived by his wife Marlene Dwyer, son Aaron Dwyer and Solange Oda, brothers and sisters-in-law Mike and Julie Dwyer, Dave and Marcy Dwyer, cousins Lorrie Freitas and Rhonda Clark, in-laws Al and Elaine Zamora, Jeanne Chiaramonte and Dave Tillmanns, Joe and Zoé Chiaramonte, Bill and Terry Pacheco, and many nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

One of Dan’s final acts reflected the generosity that defined his life. As an organ donor, he gave the gift of life to four people.
