February 28, 1973 – April 20, 2026
Daniel Casarez, lovingly known to family and friends as “Podo,” passed away unexpectedly on April 20, 2026. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Podo was a man who lived with warmth, humor, and an unmistakable spirit that drew people in. He had a deep love for his family and friends, always making time for those who mattered most. Whether it was a casual get-together or a lively celebration, Podo found joy in bringing people together, especially when it involved great food, laughter, and good company.
A devoted fan, Podo cheered passionately for the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers. His enthusiasm for his teams was contagious, and game days were often filled with excitement and sometimes a little frustration. He also found great joy in going out to the ballpark to watch his nieces and nephews play baseball and softball, always cheering them on with pride and encouragement. These moments brought back memories of his own days on the diamond playing Little League, Babe Ruth, and Adult Softball with the CazBoyz.
Music was another of Podo’s great loves. His taste was as eclectic as it was meaningful, spanning from Metallica to Santana, Common Kings and Redbone. He especially loved attending concerts, enjoying live performances from all types of musical groups and soaking in the energy of the crowd. No matter the genre, music was something he enjoyed sharing with others, often setting the tone for gatherings and memories that will last a lifetime.
Podo worked as a detailer and transporter at Tiffany Ford, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. He also spent time working at Larry’s Liquor Store as a store clerk, building connections with customers and coworkers alike through his friendly and approachable nature.
He is survived by his loving mother, Patty Casarez; his brother and sister-in-law, Benjie and Terra Casarez; his nephews, Jacob Casarez and Cole Yuste; and his nieces, Marissa Casarez and Alia Casarez, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Casarez, and his grandparents Pablo and Guadalupe Casarez, Nana Lucy Sanchez, along with many other beloved family members.
Above all, Podo will be remembered for his big heart, his loyalty, and the way he made people feel welcomed and valued. His life, though cut short, was filled with meaningful relationships and moments that will continue to live on in the stories shared by those who loved him.
He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always carried in our hearts.
