Daniel Thomas Carreiro

Daniel Thomas Carreiro (Danny) of Hollister, California passed away on May 21, 2021.

Danny was born on October 26, 1946 to Daniel and Alice Carreiro in Hollister. After graduating from San Benito County High School in 1965, he worked on several San Benito County ranches before being drafted into the Army in 1966 and was sent to Vietnam. Once he came home in 1967, he began working on the Quien Sabe Ranch before marrying Susan Jones on June 28, 1969 later welcoming two sons; Frank Joseph Carreiro and Thomas Daniel Carreiro.

During his lifetime, Danny worked for various ranchers; Pheiffer’s, O’Connell’s, Wattis, Hudner and Strohn’s, doing what he loved. He enjoyed taking his favorite horse, “Baby Doll”, to different brandings. Danny also loved tractors, the held a special place in his heart.

Danny is survived by his wife Roberta Carreiro (Billy, Joey & Krissy) and his son Frank Carreiro; along with his grandchildren: Adam Carreiro, Bailey & Jacob Carreiro, and Kandis, Kayla and Kassandra Bordi; and two great-grandsons, and Squeezy; his Aunt Helen Serpa and family; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many other family members. Danny was preceded in death by his son Thomas Carreiro and his wife Susan Carreiro.

Services will be held at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home on Saturday, May 29th with visitation beginning at 09:00 a.m. and funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery will full military honors provided by Local VFW Post 9242.

Reception to follow at 6370 Frye Lane, Hollister.
