Passed Away On: January 10, 2023

Eduardo “Ed” Gonzalez passed away unexpectedly at age 46 on January 10, 2023, at Sutter Roseville Hospital with his devoted wife, Elizabeth (Liz), at his side. Ed was born on August 17, 1976, to Concepcion Diaz-Leanos in Hollister, California.

After graduating high school in Hollister, California, Ed pursued a career playing for the NBDL team, the Charleston LowGators, in South Carolina. When he returned home, he went on to study at Gavilan College. Around 2012, Ed met Liz in San Jose, California, and they soon fell in love and married shortly after. In 2014 Ed and his wife moved to Lincoln, California, to pursue his passion for playing poker professionally.

Though he was only on earth for a short time, he will always be remembered by his family and friends. We will all remember his laugh, his words of wisdom, and his love for sports. Go, Cowboys! Go, Lakers! He had a passion for traveling and trying new delicious food. Ed was the life of the party and lit up any room. He always could make anyone smile and always practiced kindness anywhere he went. His positive outlook on life and sense of humor will be missed but never forgotten. Ed leaves behind his wife, Liz. Siblings: Luis, Angelica, and Elizabeth, many beautiful nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Private cremation will be followed by memorial services.

Family and friends are invited to the memorial services. The services will be held at Black-Cooper-Sander Funeral Home on Friday, February 3, at 11:00 am to reminisce and honor his life.
