Hollister resident, Francisco (Frank) Venegas Jr., a proud Marine, master builder, and devoted husband, passed away on May 9, 2025.
Frank, born in Los Angeles, was a dedicated husband to his beloved wife of 56 years, Rose, of Hollister. He is also survived by his siblings, Toni Lopez and Herman Venegas, both of Los Angeles, along with numerous nieces and nephews who cherished him as a steady and supportive presence in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Sr. and Guadalupe Venegas, and his brother, Salvador.
Frank proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969, including active duty in the Vietnam War. His service exemplified his courage, patriotism, and unwavering dedication to his country.
After his military service, Frank applied his formidable work ethic and sharp craftsmanship to a successful career in construction. He worked for Swinerton & Walberg for 25 years, leading the construction of large-scale projects across California, including hospitals, correctional facilities, and civic buildings—structures that continue to serve communities today. He retired in 2000, leaving behind a professional legacy marked by excellence and reliability.
Frank will be remembered as a man of quiet strength, enduring values, and deep pride in his work and family. His life touched many and his impact will continue to be felt by those who loved and respected him.
A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to veterans’ organizations.
