James “Jimmy” Martinez, 60, passed away in Escondido, CA, after courageously battling a long-term illness. Born and raised in Hollister, CA, Jimmy was actively involved in both baseball and boxing during his youth. He began his career as a dedicated member of the Hollister Fire Department, serving his community with pride. Later, he relocated to Escondido, where he successfully ran a plumbing business for over 30 years.

Raised in church, Jimmy had a deeply grounded faith in God, which directly influenced his love for everyone around him. His kindness and friendship reflected his faith and belief in serving others.

Jimmy was known for his boundless generosity, deep love for family and friends, and his unwavering support for those he cherished. A passionate fan of the San Francisco 49ers and Giants, he always remained dedicated to them even after living in Southern California for so many years.

He was a real American patriot, who was never afraid to share his views and opinions. He loved his country and proudly supported law enforcement, first responders, and the military.  He often displayed his support through the hats he wore. He was also a proud member of the fraternal organization E Clampus Vitus, further reflecting his commitment to camaraderie and service.

He was preceded in death by his father Joe Martinez and brother Jeff Martinez, whom he has now joined on his heavenly journey, his grandparents John & Rose Solano and Jose & Tavita Martinez. 

Jimmy is survived by his loving soulmate, Lorraine Hermosillo; his beloved mother, Nancy Martinez; his brother, Joseph Martinez; his sister, Joanne (Tim) Fowles; his daughter, Jennifer (Kendall and children) Fisher ; and two grandsons, Christian Itzaina and Nolan Albright, who not only helped run his business but also became his devoted caretakers, ensuring he lived a life of quality. Additionally, he leaves behind other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who will continue to honor his legacy.

Jimmy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he so lovingly served.
