Joseph “Joe” Caporgno was born on June 2, 1942, in Louisville KY to Joseph and Mildred Caporgno. He grew up in San Juan Bautista. During high school, he was a 3 sport athlete playing football, basketball, and baseball graduating from Hollister High School in 1960. He married his high school sweetheart Judy Damm and they were happily married for 50 years before her passing in 2015. He served in the Army National Guard. In 1958, he went to work alongside his father working for Cullum Systems. In 1981, he started his own business, Caporgno Pump Service, where he met many people who became lifelong friends.
Joe was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed deer, pig, and quail hunting. He was a member of Hollister Elks Lodge and Booster Club.
Joe is survived by his children, Bill Caporgno, Steve Caporgno, and Karen Franco (Steve), his grandchildren, Dustin Franco (Natalie), Lauren Durst (Robert), Ashlyn Horwood (Zach), Lindsey Graves (Travis), Krystal Day (Spencer), Kelly Sicely, and Avery Caporgno, and five great-grandchildren, with another one on the way.
