It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Del Rosario “Chayo” Vallejo, born Mar. 9, 1955 in Jalisco, Mexico, passed away Sept.7, 2026, in Hollister, California. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents Manuel Robles Miranda and Josefina Raygoza Placencia. Her siblings Silvia Robles Raygoza, Francisco Robles Raygoza, Nohemi Robles Robles and nephew Tomas Robles Robles.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Felipe Vallejo. Children Mario Vallejo, Felipe J. Vallejo, Silvia Vallejo, Marielena Vallejo-Estrada, Son-in-Law Gerardo Estrada. Grandchildren Monique Sandoval, Esther Sandoval, Cassandra Vallejo (Jesse Jimenez), Sebastian A. Fernandez, Emilio Vallejo, Aydania Vallejo, Adrian Estrada, Tomas Vallejo and Tatiana Estrada. Great-grandchildren Annalieyah Jimenez, Alenna Jimenez, Arielle Jimenez and Sebastian J. Fernandez. Brothers Jose Arturo Paz (Adelina) and Alberto Robles Raygoza (Beatrice). Many nieces, nephews and friends that became family.
She came to Hollister in 1974. She worked in the orchards around the area, picking walnuts and cutting apricots while also working at Happy Hen Ranch. In 1986 she began working night shifts at San Benito Foods and stayed for 27 years. She also worked for the Hollister School District as a cross guard and yard duty for a few years.
She had a true love for music and dancing and was always the life of the party. Her joyful spirit could light up any room, and she brought laughter and happiness wherever she went. She was a loving and caring woman with a generous heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her kindness, warmth, and beautiful spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
The Vallejo Family, appreciate all the love, kindness, and generosity expressed during this difficult time. We also would like to thank Kriya, Joy and Rose from Hospice for the wonderful care and laughs we had with her.
