Passed Away On: 2017-03-27 00:00:00

Nicholas "Nick" John Lust passed away at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View at the age of 44. Nick is survived by his wife Brandi (Melville), daughters (London 3, Alora 25), as well as brother Rick Lust (Heather) and sister Amanda Moon (Ron), Uncle Bill Ricotti (San Jose), Grandmother Carolina Marcus, Nieces (Miranda 17, Lori 12), Nephews (Levi 22, Ricky 10, Liam 4). Nick is also survived by his Aunt Kathy Riggs (Lloyd) and Aunt Robin Lust of Modesto as well as many more cousins in Hollister and Modesto areas.
Nick leaves a long legacy within the San Benito County Area. Not only were Nick's parents born and raised in Hollister, Nick spent most of his years within his beloved town as well. Like his father, Nick was a talented artist. From an early age it was evident that Nick's artistic ability would be his draw in life. Along with drawing, Nick's artistic eye could be seen through wood burning, paintings, carvings and most importantly photography. Nick's love for San Benito County as well as the many other areas of California can still be seen at Nicklustphotopraphy.com. Nick's love for sports and his love for photography paid off when one of his many dreams came true when he was given the opportunity to photograph San Jose Sharks games for Don Smith Photography and the National Hockey League (NHL).
Nick's love and legacy in San Benito County was never brighter than when he followed his mother's shadow of teaching. In 1999, after graduating from San Francisco State with a Bachelor's Degree in Film, Nick began his program to earn his teaching credential as well as Masters in Education at National University, which he completed in 2002. Nick began teaching at San Andreas High School in Hollister in 1999 and immediately began changing the lives of students. During his years as an educator Nick mentored hundreds of students while teaching Math as well as Art and helped many students that may have felt they'd never see the stage of graduation to believing they could accomplish anything and graduated high school!
In 2010 Nick met his Princess Leia in Brandi Melville. In 2013 they married and a few months later welcomed Nick's pride and joy, their daughter London.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard (1993) and Carole (2013) Lust as well as Uncle John Lust (2016) of Modesto. Nick will be missed as a mentor, teacher, artist, friend, nephew, uncle, grandson, brother, husband, and Daddy. He will live in our hearts forever and we know as the moon shines through the peaks of Pinnacles National Park, it's Nick's eye watching over us!
A public celebration of Nick's life is scheduled at Marguerite Maze Middle School Gym in Hollister on Saturday, April 15th at 10:00a.m. followed by a private reception afterwards. Due to Nick's love for sports and movies, the family asks to attend wearing your favorite San Francisco Giants, 49ers, San Jose Sharks or Disney/Star Wars gear. A donation to support Nick's family can be made at https://www.gofundme.com/love-support-for-mr-lust.
We are also asking for anyone and everyone to send stories about Nick and pictures to remembernicklust@gmail.com.
