Born on August 7, 1946, in Hollister, California, to Georgia May Littlejohn and Edward Thomas Littlejohn, Patti lived her life with an open door and an open heart. She was known for her warmth, generosity, and ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved.
A proud member of the Hollister community, Patti was honored as the 1963 Portuguese Queen of Hollister, a title that reflected her grace, vibrant spirit, and dedication to her community.
Patti was best known for welcoming others into her home. Whether family, friends, foster children, or someone in need of kindness, there was always room for one more. Her home was filled with laughter, beloved dogs, and the aroma of homemade treats. Family and friends especially looked forward to her famous peanut brittle, fudge, and Kahlua, which she often shared in gift baskets made with love.
Teaching and encouraging others brought Patti great joy. She founded a cheerleading and dance squad for local children, helping them build confidence and friendships. Throughout her life, she also owned a dog grooming business, a weekly newspaper in Hollister, and a flower shop, sharing her creativity and caring nature with many.
As a foster parent to numerous children over the years, Patti opened not only her home but also her heart. Her compassion, guidance, and unconditional support touched countless lives.
Patti is survived by her daughters, Gina Bocanegra of Alturas and Rochelle “Shelly” Verdusco of Sacramento; her oldest granddaughter Ashley Thomas and her husband Daniel McCarthy of Plumas Lake; her brothers, Everett Littlejohn and his wife Patti of Gilroy, and Robert Littlejohn of Los Banos; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and foster children.
