Robert Patterson Graves was born in Tres Pinos, California on November 11, 1931, to Frank Graves and Carmel Larios Graves. Robert was educated in Tres Pinos and Hollister High School where he became class President.
He received his AA degree from Gavilan College. He served in the United States Marine Corp as a Sargent from 1951-1954. Bob was a local orchardist and farmer. He raised turkeys on what is Ridgemark Golf Course today. Bob was active in the community with youth sports.
In 1962, Bob was appointed by President Kennedy as Postmaster of Hollister, California. He went on to work in Saratoga and Brisbane as their Postmaster. In addition, he was elected to the National Secretary Treasure Office of the NAPUS. He retired from the Post Office in 1999.
Bob is survived by his wife Beverly Quinones of Sonora, California. Bob spent the last four years in Hollister surrounded by his sons, Mike (Kathy) Graves, Bob (Debie) Graves and daughter Kathleen Graves. He is survived by his grandchildren Aaron Graves, Adam Graves, Michaela, and Chase Graves. Great-grandchildren Goldie, Beau, and Elouise.
