January 22, 1955 – March 12, 2026
Rodolfo “Rudy” Barrientos, 71, of Hollister passed in the evening of March 12, 2026.
He was born on January 22, 1955, in Mission, Texas to Cipriano and Guadalupe Barrientos.
Rudy was of Catholic faith. He graduated from San Benito High School in 1974. Right after graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and served in San Diego and in San Francisco for one term. Upon his discharge, he came back to his hometown of Hollister and began his employment with Nob Hill that same year. No time wasted. He was an asset there for 40+ years as he brought his professionalism and skills to work every day. He knew pretty much anything asked of him and was a good coworker to his Nob Hill Family. He remained employed until he retired April 1st, 2024.
He truly was selfless. Before he retired, he was dedicated to balancing his job and the care of his mother with his siblings, until she passed away in 2019.
Rudy was an exemplary pillar and role model of the family. He loved to travel to visit and spend time with family from all over especially in Texas, Colorado, & Mexico. He gained everyone’s love & trust with his family devotion. He could cook out BBQ, Mexican, and American dishes like nobody’s business.
He cheered the family’s favorite football team of the San Francisco 49ers, even though he was the only loyal Dallas Cowboys fan in the household ever since Tom Landry was coaching. Interesting enough that Coach Landry and Rudy shared the same hometown of Mission, Texas. How cool is that? He cheered on their wins & losses!
He left his loved ones with many great memories, of the happy and sad times in our lives, to sustain us content to endure his absence until that great day we may see him again- God Willing.
Many, especially his nieces and nephews loved him, and some looked up to him as the closest thing to an extra loving parent to have. He will forever be in our hearts.
