Rosemary “Huera” Luna Casas, age 74, passed away on April 15, 2026 in San Diego California where she called home for over 50 years.
Born on August 28, 1951 in Hollister, CA, Huera was the daughter of Jennie Garcia and Manuel Vaquera Luna. She attended San Juan Elementary School and San Benito High School.
Huera will be remembered as a beloved and cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her—steady in her love, generous in her care, and enduring in the quiet strength that carried her through life. Her resilience showed most clearly in the devotion she gave to her family, embracing her role as a dedicated mother and grandmother with unwavering commitment and tenderness.
Huera is survived by her husband, Pascual Casas, Sr.; her children, Pascual Casas, Jr. and Maria Antonia Gonzalez; her siblings, Vincent Luna, Bobby Luna, Lupe Luna, Henrietta Patino, Gloria Mancera, and Rudy Luna; her grandchildren, Elijah Sanchez, Areanna Casas, Marianna Casas, Sonnie Hernandez, Pascual Casas III, and Vicente Casas; and her great-granddaughter, Ella Casas.
She was preceded in death by her son Fernando Casas, her parents, Manuel and Jennie Luna, siblings, Manuel Luna Jr, Raymond Luna, Teodoro Luna, Ruben Luna, Jorge Luna, and Robert Luna.
She is survived by many nephews and nieces from both the Luna and Casas families, as well as numerous cousins. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to relatives and sisters Lupe, Henrietta, and Gloria, and offers special thanks to her niece, Sonya Luna Lomax, for their unwavering love, care, and support during her final days.
A visitation will be held at Erickson – Anderson Mortuary, 8390 Allison Ave., La Mesa, California, on May 1, 2026, from 4-7 p.m.
