Local Hollister band Kizmet submitted a 30-second theme song and a 10-second jingle to San Francisco radio station Live 105 with the hopes of winning the opportunity to perform on the Soundcheck Local Band stage at Live 105's BFD 2015. Live 105 will present the 21st Annual LIVE 105 BFD, at the Shoreline Amphitheater on Saturday, June 6. On Wednesday, June 3, Kizmet will be performing at the Hollister Downtown Farmer's Market beginning at 3:30 p.m. The band will be broadcast with a live video stream to the web on Concert Window (https://www.concertwindow.com) thanks, in part, to Mariposa Tax Service providing its Wi-Fi network with which to upload HD video content to the Web. Barry and Sofia Hauser, owners of Mariposa Tax and Business Center on San Benito Street, are also members of the Hollister Downtown Association which hosts the Downtown Farmer's Market every Wednesday afternoon through September 30.
Kizmet consists of Zachary Freitas, guitars/vocals, Max Crist, keyboards/guitars/vocals, and Matthew Virak, drums. The band produces and performs original music as well as cover songs of other artists. According to the band's Facebook page, it musical genre is: Acoustic Alternative with a Blend of Folk/Grunge/Country/Blues/Rock. The group has been performing and recording music for several years.
The band also hopes to perform at the Bolado Park Event Center for music fans and campers staying at the park during the 2015 Hollister Freedom Motorcycle Rally July 3, 4 and 5.
