On Thursday, June 23, San Benito County Sheriffs Sergeant Kelly Burbank and Deputy Cody Diller both medaled in weight lifting at the U.S. Police and Fire Championships in San Diego.
For the combined bench press and dead lift, Diller took the gold medal while Burbank took the silver medal. Diller lifted 303 pounds on the bench press and 484 pounds on the dead lift. Burbank lifted 242 pounds on the bench press and 426 pounds on the dead lift.
In a press release, the Sheriff's Office said it is "very proud of how well Deputy Diller and Sergeant Burbank represented our office and our county at the games."
