LULAC honors veterans at annual breakfast

"All Gave Some; Some Gave All"

The San Benito County League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) honored local veterans at the annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Nov. 11 at San Benito High School.

Local veterans enjoyed a breakfast while LULAC  recognized Samuel Rivera and Bernardo "Bernie" Ramirez, two local veterans who continue to serve their country by volunteering in many community events. The honorees were presented with recognitions from Congressman-elect Jimmy Panetta, Assemblywoman-elect Anna Caballero, LULAC President Cesar Flores, LULAC Veterans Committee Chair Vince Luna, LULAC Vice President Dr. Parveen Sharma, San Benito County Supervisor Margie Barrios, and Hollister Mayor Ignacio Velazquez.

LULAC is humbled by the bravery and courage of the veterans in our community and in our country. Every year when we celebrate Veterans' Day on Nov. 11, we are reminded to thank our family, friends, and community members. Our veterans and their families have made many sacrifices to keep our country safe. We strongly encourage everyone to think of our veterans not only on Veterans' Day, but year-round.
