Memorial Day will be observed this coming Monday, May 30 by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9242 and American Legion Post 69. A banner presentation is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. followed by the formal ceremony at noon Monday on the plaza in front of the Veterans Memorial Building, 649 San Benito St. in Hollister.

A barbecue lunch follows. Cost for the barbecue is $10.

County cemeteries will also have brief ceremonies Monday honoring those who have served their country.

County employees held a brief ceremony on Friday, May 27, adjacent to the flag pole at the county Behavioral Health offices.
