The San Benito County Historical Society and Santa Cruz filmmaker Cheryl Isaacson will present her micro-film "The Fetch" on Wednesday, July 19 at 7 p.m. at the Wapple House Museum at 498 Fifth St. in Hollister.

The piece, filmed at the society’s San Benito County Historical Park, provides a glimpse of life in a derelict California caused by a severe water shortage. The historic buildings at the park and the equipment sheds are the backdrop for this story of a mother’s action to protect her child.

The film was inspired by the work of Jodi Foster and Matt Damon to focus attention on the daily effort of mothers in many parts of the world to obtain water. A discussion of water issues will follow the film.

The viewing is open to the public. Members are invited to come at 6:30 p.m. to meet the director. For more information about the film, click here.
