The Mission San Juan Bautista Preservation Fund is grateful to announce that the Community Foundation for San Benito County has awarded $10,000 towards the continuing development of construction plans for the preservation of the Mission San Juan Bautista. Specifically, this grant will help fund the work of preservation architects to survey and improve design for accessibility to the Mission campus. Elements of this project included the evaluation and planned enhancement of parking, public access, and entry into the mission grounds as well as the mission church.

For over 220 years the Old Mission has been an integral part of our community. Every year Mission San Juan Bautista attracts several thousands of visitors from all over the world. The Mission San Juan Bautista Preservation Fund is greatly encouraged and grateful to have the support and key partnership of the Community Foundation of San Benito County. With the aid of this helpful community contribution, the Mission San Juan Bautista Preservation Fund will move forward with the important work of preserving and protecting our region’s most recognizable cultural and historic land mark for future generations.

The Mission San Juan Bautista Preservation Fund, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, was formed in 2015 to ensure that future generations will continue to enjoy Mission San Juan Bautista and learn about its important place in California history. Our “Mission” is to preserve and protect the architectural and structural integrity of the historical property as well as the art and artifacts of Mission San Juan Bautista. Located in San Juan Bautista, California, Mission San Juan Bautista has the distinction of being a California State Historic Landmark ( # 195).

The Community Foundation for San Benito County was formed in 1992 by a dedicated group of people who were passionate about building a stronger community and enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families in San Benito County through the support of philanthropic activities.
