Mountain lion sighted at Brigantino Park

Sighting comes eight days after mountain lion reportedly spotted near high school

Just over a week after a mountain lion sighting was reported near San Benito High School's ag barn, Hollister Police Chief David Westrick said a mountain lion was seen at Brigantino Park, located just west of the San Benito River on Fourth Street. The park, which is bordered by the river to the east and hills to the west, has been closed several times because of reported mountain lion sightings.

Westrick posted on social media that the public should "take preccautions" and posted a link to the department's mountain lion safety guide.
