National Library Week, April 12-18, celebrates the wealth of unlimited resources, programs, and services offered by libraries throughout the country. San Benito County Free Library and the Friends of the Library will celebrate the occasion by hosting a variety of fun, free activities and events each day of the week that showcase the many services and programs the library offers our community.

EXPRESS YOURSELF WITH WRITING (Tuesday, April 14)
4 p.m. “How to Get Published”- Published author Rachelle Escamilla talks to teen and adults about marketing yourself and the “ins and outs” of the publishing industry.
6:30 p.m. –“3 Common Mistakes People Make on their Resumes – Is Your Resume Getting the Phone to Ring!” Vicki Brackett, career coach and president and CEO of Make It Happen, demonstrates how to “minimize liabilities on your resume” and more. Bring your current resume and see where you can make improvements on how you market yourself into your next job.

3:30 p.m. -Colors! Colors! Colors! Experiment and explore colors with artist and educator Christine Tarnai-Hammer. (Elementary school-age children)

4:30 p.m. “Songs of the Heart” – Enjoy a performance by the Oriana Chorale with keyboard accompaniment by Masae Ariki.
5 p.m. “Imaginary Animal” Author Talk – Join us for a special author talk featuring published Poet Rachelle Escamilla, recipient of the Virginia de Arujo Academy of American Poets and Willow Books Literature awards.
