The Hollister Police Department invites the community to the annual National Night Out event in Hollister on Tuesday, Aug. 1 in front of the Veterans' Memorial Building at 649 San Benito St. between 5 and 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Law enforcement agencies and communities across the nation will participate in National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. The event aims to strengthen relationships between neighbors and law enforcement. It provides a great opportunity to bring law enforcement and neighbors together under positive circumstances, according to a press release from the Hollister Police Department.
Representatives from the Hollister Police Department, Hollister Police Animal Care and Services, Hollister Fire Department, San Benito County Sheriffs Department, California Highway Patrol, San Benito County Search and Rescue, and the San Benito County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be at the event.
There will be many other public service groups and community organizations also in attendance. Emergency response vehicles will be on display along with music and a jump house. Attendees will be able to view exhibits, obtain information about various local services and much more.
"We encourage our community to stop by and meet representatives from their local law enforcement and community organizations," police said in the release.
