Online survey asks for input on proposed west side pedestrian improvements

The City of Hollister is seeking community input through an online survey ahead of the proposed construction of the West Gateway Project (located along San Juan Road between Graf Road and Westside Boulevard) in Hollister. The project’s planned improvements include sidewalks, lighting, bicycle lanes, a roundabout and other pedestrian improvements. 

The eight-question online community survey is intended to gather further input on the travel behaviors of bicyclist and pedestrians using the project area. Question topics include whether people have witnessed close call or near-miss incidents in the project area and whether they would walk or bike more often in the area if improvements such as bicycle lanes, sidewalks and reduced speeds were implemented.

It also asks respondents to suggest where they would add bicycle racks in the project area.

Survey responses are due by May 18 at midnight.
