As part of a new series on Benitolink, the San Benito County Arts Council will feature different artists every week in an effort to highlight some of the local talent participating in this year's Open Studios Art Tour on April 25-26 throughout San Benito County. The second featured artist, Lesley Holtaway, shares her thoughts below about her artistic process. Please visit her studio at 854 Cole Rd. in Aromas during Open Studios weekend.

"I look at jewelry as little sculptures and collages," Holtaway says. "The combination of materials that can be used are endless, but I’m most drawn to working with freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones, crystals and art glass. While my necklaces have a classic look, the earrings are more delicate. My style tends towards a casual elegance for everyday wear."
