Congressman Jimmy Panetta will hold a reception in Hollister on Thursday, May 11 to announce the winner of the 2017 Congressional Art Competition.

The winning entry will be  displayed in the corridors of the nation’s Capitol in Washington, D.C. The winner and a family member will also be invited to attend a special ceremony with other young artists from around the country in Washington at the end of June.

The announcement will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Veterans’ Memorial Building, 649 San Benito St. in Hollister.
