In conjunction with Small Business Saturday and to open the holiday season, parking time limits will be suspended in the downtown district, the Hollister Police Department announced on Thanksgiving.

The three-hour parking time limits will be suspended from Nov. 25, 2016 through Jan. 2, 2017 in downtown Hollister. All public parking spaces and lots will be un-timed. Businesses, merchants and downtown employees are encouraged to park in the Briggs Building parking structure (which offers free parking year-round) or one of the many off-street parking lots downtown to allow for convenience of customer parking on the street.

Additionally, the Hollister Police Department said in the announcement that it "would also like to remind the public to drink responsibly during the holidays and always designate a sober driver."
