Pinnacles National Park is seeking up to four enthusiastic locals (age 18-25) to join its team and make a difference in Pinnacles’ stewardship. Join the Ranger Corps as a part-time local intern on weekends and holidays (8 hours/day) during this winter and spring.
Ranger Corps members will learn about the ecology, geology, cultural history, flora and fauna of the area with an emphasis on ethnobotany and California condor recovery. They will also help visitors have a safe and enjoyable visit to the park. Participants will work alongside National Park Service professionals and experience the various jobs required to manage a national park.
Applicants must be between the ages of 18-25 and pass a background check. Benefits include a weekly stipend of $144 and an AmeriCorps educational award of $1,175 after completion of a minimum of 300 hours of service between Feb. and June 2015. The program begins Feb. 7, 2015.
