Pinnacles National Park to celebrate National Park Service’s 100th birthday with volunteer clean-up effort

Park scientists seek help with dragonfly sampling, native seed collection and micro-trash pickup to protect condors

The public can celebrate the National Park Service's centennial by joining Pinnacles Partnership and Pinnacles National Park at a volunteer event at the park on Saturday, Aug. 20. Volunteers will help park biologists and ecologists study, protect and restore the park's native habitats.

Registration for the Centennial Day of Service will start at 8:30 a.m. and run from 9 a.m. to noon.

Park scientists want volunteer help for:

  • Dragonfly sampling
  • Native seed collection
  • Micro-trash pick-up to protect condors

Volunteers will help park biologists and ecologists study, protect and restore Pinnacles native habitats. They will receive free park entrance and birthday cupcakes.

The Day of Service will be held at Pinnacles' Eastside Visitor Center on the San Benito County side of the park.
