The San Benito County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at the Board of Supervisors’ chambers, 481 Fourth St., on Wednesday, May 11, at 6 p.m. One of the agenda items is to discuss an affordable housing workshop.

The commission is inviting affordable housing providers, developers, builders, and interested members of the community to participate in the workshop. Discussions will concern, but are not limited to, affordable and inclusionary housing requirements, in-lieu fees, location of housing, affordable-by-design, re-sale restrictions, and income limits.

According to the agenda, the goal of the workshop is to assist the county in constructing and implementing a new affordable housing ordinance. After discussion, the Planning Commission may adopt Resolution recommending that the Board of Supervisors adopt an Affordable/Inclusionary Housing Ordinance or it may continue the matter for future discussion.
