Hollister Police arrested four juvenile males after responding to a report of a burglary in progress at Cerra Vista School on Friday, July 14. Property found on the juveniles linked them to another burglary at Calvary Christian School, police said in a press release.
On that date at about 3:50 p.m., officers responded to a report by a neighbor of a burglary in progress at the school. Officers responded quickly and surrounded the school before entering to investigate. Upon entry, they found four suspects close to a classroom that had been broken into, police said, noting that the four suspects fled from police in different directions but three were quickly arrested after a short foot pursuit within the campus. The fourth suspect was arrested a few blocks away.
During the course of the investigation, evidence was found linking the juveniles to the burglary at the school as well as another burglary that occurred at Calvary Christian School located a short distance away, according to the HPD. One of the juveniles was also found in possession of marijuana and the juvenile, police said, told them that the marijuana belonged to all four of them.
The juveniles, including a 12-year-old, a 15-year-old and two 17-year-olds, were arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall on charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of marijuana under the age of 18.
