HOLLISTER, CA- November 27, 2013- On November 27, 2013, about 5:30 PM, Hollister Police Detectives arrested John Michael Busby (24) of Salinas for numerous charges related to sexual assault of a 15 year old female.

On November 26, 2013, Hollister Police officers responded to a report of a man having prior sexual relations with a minor female. The alleged crimes occurred on Monday, November 25, 2013 in Hollister. Hollister Detectives were dispatched to the incident and conducted an investigation.

Busby contacted the victim via social media thru Facebook and requested to become “friends.” Busby pursued meeting the juvenile for several weeks until she agreed to meet with him in Hollister. Busby drove to Hollister, picked up the victim, and took her to a different area of town and then sexually assaulted the victim. Busby drove the victim home and she later reported the incident to her parents and then later Hollister Police Department.

Busby was contacted by Hollister Officers and Detectives in the 1000 block of Meridian Street. Busby was arrested and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the San Benito County Jail where he was booked.

Busby’s bail is listed at $286,000.
