HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – September 30, 2013– On Sunday, September 29th, Hollister Police Officers arrested Cesar Omar Aguilar-Garduno (19 years old) of Hollister for attempted homicide and weapons charges following a high speed pursuit.
At about 4:00 pm, Hollister Police Officers responded to the area of Hillcrest Road and McCray Street for a report of a woman being chased by a man in a vehicle who was brandishing a handgun. While responding to the area, officers received reports that an injury collision had occurred nearby.

Hollister Police Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle in the area of Hillcrest Road at SR-25. Officers attempted to make an enforcement stop on the vehicle but the suspect vehicle fled and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended in the 300 block of Howard Ct., where the suspect was taken into custody without incident. A handgun and an ammunition magazine was located in the vicinity of the suspect when he was apprehended.

The investigation later revealed that the suspect confronted the victims and accused them of being allied with a rival gang. The victims attempted to get away from the suspect in a vehicle. The suspect chased them and pointed a handgun at them repeatedly. The suspect stopped chasing the victim’s vehicle after the victim’s vehicle collided with a fence on SR-25 near Hillcrest Road. The victims sustained moderate injuries and were treated at a local hospital.

Aguilar-Garduno was booked in to the San Benito County Jail on weapons and gang charges, along with attempted homicide, and evading the police with willful disregard for public safety. His bail is currently set at $561,000.
