The Hollister Police Department has made an arrest as a result of an investigation into recent bomb threats at Marguerite Maze Middle School. 

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, several threats of a bomb exploding at Marguerite Maze School were located written in different locations on campus. Hollister Police personnel and school staff conducted extensive searches of the campus to ensure the safety of the students. Additional security was also called in for the reminder of the week. 

School Resource Officer Michael Paddy immediately began an investigation into the incident. After interviewing several students and parents and with the assistance of school staff, Paddy was able to arrest a 12-year-old suspect. The minor was released to a parent with a citation for making a false bomb threat. 

“We take all threats seriously, and will always take immediate action to ensure the safety of our students and staff,” said Hollister School District Superintendent Gary McIntire. “The district thanks all members of our community who assisted in the investigation that solved this crime.”

The Hollister Police Department, in a press release, thanked the Hollister School District, the staff at Marguerite Maze Middle School and parents and students for their cooperation in this investigation.
