The Hollister Police Department has identified Francisco “Frankie” Cardenas, 18, of Hollister as a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest in the killing of Daniel Manuel Cadenas, 31, on Prospect Avenue on July 14.
On the morning of July 25, the Hollister Police Department served a search warrant at Francisco Cardenas’ residence in Hollister. He was not located at the home. Hollister Police detectives report that they discovered information that his mother assisted him in fleeing from Hollister shortly after the incident.
Francisco Cardenas' mother, Margaret Nieto, 37, was arrested and transported to the San Benito County Jail. She was booked for allegedly helping her son to conceal his involvement in the crime and escape from arrest.
In a press release, Hollister Police say that Francisco Cardenas should be considered armed and dangerous and his whereabouts are unknown at this time.
